1. What is LUVstock?

LUVstock is a Celebration of Life.

In a world full of haggard politics we should all be thankful for another day that we are all still alive and reasonably well. For those of us who are well, our mission should be to share that Wellness.

They say that Money makes the world go around, but not everyone can access that money… in fact over half the world can’t!

Some people make a lot of cash and don’t share it. People steal money, covet money, kill for money… there are even people who say they love money.

We say that Love makes the World around! You can’t buy Love. You can’t steal Love. You can’t kill Love though some have died for Love. The more Love we share, the more Love goes around. That is why LUVstock is free. It is a Community Gathering, and while LUVstock does have to pay for its Basic Needs such as renting the Venue, the Sound Company and a variety of Expenses, the LUVVERS that come to LUVstock donate what they can and bring it all together. ..We LUV y’all!

LUVstock has grown and gone through many positive changes over the years and promises to be one of the Highlights of your Summer.

Like last year and the years before, LUVstock has traditionally attracted hundreds of Musicians, Artists and Bohemians from around Taiwan; gathering to Celebrate Life, enjoy the company of like minded people, make music, spread awareness, make new connections, make acquaintances, lounge around on the grass, eat, drink & be Merry. We say this every year... but this year is going to be BETTER.

The LUVstock Gathering 2010 will be held at the Same Venue (BUT different location inside the Venue) as LUVstock 2009 @ Dong Shan Paradise:

You never know what will happen at this Gathering... and something always does!

This year we have a great line up of some the best Musicians, DJs and Spectacular Artists from around the Island (see below).

DongShan Paradise is an abandoned Amusement Park that functions now as a tea house, hot tub/hotel . When we investigated this Venue and told them what we want to do, they were happy that this beautiful land will be used again. Thank you Community for pulling together to get everything ready for LUV!

LUVstock had hundreds come and feel the LUV last year… this year we expect hundreds more!

*This is RAIN OR SHINE (the weather is going to be GREAT though!) We are all covered from the sun and the rain. And even if it does rain... NO MUD and you do not get WET! Dongshan Paradise is HUGE ;-)

* LUVstock has 4 STAGES this year! Main stage, Guest DJ Stage, DJ Stage, Acoustic Stage by the River.

3. ACTIVITIES

~SPECIAL EVENT: This year The LUVstock Film Crew will be making a Doc/Mock/Rock-umentary of LUVstock.

1. The Documentary: Where LUVstock has come from, why the LUVstockers do it and where LUVstock is going!

2. The Mockumentary: Three groups of characters are trying to get to LUVstock and we see the adventures they encounter. T here will be real footage intertwined with acting. If you are interested in being part of this Production... drop us a line ASAP!

3. The Rockumentary: The Music Scene and how it has grown in Taiwan specifically Taichung. This will include footage spanning several years from other Taiwan events including Spring Scream, May Jam, Peacefest, Basic Aid and more and key players that make it happen.

Q: Hey BP, how do bands sign up for LuvStock '10?

A: The DEADLINE has passed, but we would still love your BAND INFO for the next Gathering we have!

Drop me a line in my FB inbox with the following info:

1. Name of Band

2. How many Members in Band

3. Names of Members and their Instruments

4. Genre of Music

5. Band Website AND Email AND Cell Phone Number

6. Last show/Next Show Date

7. A song or two MP3

8. Band's CD (optional)

Q; We are coming from out of town. Where can we stay?

A: DongShan Paradise has discounted rooms for LUVstock Gatherers and we have camping!

MAKE RESERVATIONS WITH US ASAP

*CAMPING: 300 NT per a tent space. Let us know in advance!

*Rooms with HOT TUBS:

Q: Is there room for more art displays?

A: There is plenty of room and we encourage ALL artists to come and be a part.

Q: Can the artists sell their art at LUVstock?

A: Of course! Drop us a private note to discuss details. Artists keep all profits.

Q: I am playing in one of the bands. Can we sell our CDs?

A: Of course! You can leave CDs and other 'for sale band stuff' with one of the Vendors or sell them during your set. Bands keep all profits.

Q: Taxis?

A: There will be taxis on hand if you need to get back to where you're going. Find us at The Refuge Bar.

Q: Can we sell stuff at LUVstock?

A: Yes you can, but you must reserve a vending table, drop us a note for details. Alcohol will be provided by The Refuge (cheap beer and mixed drinks), vendors are allowed to sell non-alcoholic juices etc, but let us know before hand what is on your menu. NO GLASS ;-)

Q: Is this a place we can bring our children?

A: The hills are a LUV with the sound of Children. Lots of kids and lots of space... this is a Community! What is a Community with out the munchkins running around? ;-)

Q: Can we bring pets?

A: There are pets everywhere! Please bring a leash, a pooper scooper and a poo-poo bag though, and be responsible for your extended family Mammal. (Factors to be aware of... other pets, other species, children, etc...)

Q. Is LUVstock really FREE?

A. YES! We have gifts at the front gate for those who donate. Donations and bar sales help us pay for this event.

Q. Can we bring outside Food or Drink?

A. Good Question. We ask that you don’t bring in outside victuals & ales as we hope that you will be part of this Community and support what we do. This year there will be people checking… so please leave your outside stuff…outside! The Beverage sales help LUVstock pay its bills. The Food sales help the Vendors pay their bills!

It is a bit expensive putting something like this on and every little bit helps… so in the name of LUV, spend the change in your pocket on the very reasonably priced food & drink inside the Venue!

This is VERY easy! From Taichung Zhong Gang Road... get on to Wenxin (or Wenshin) Road and go NORTH.

You stay on this road the WHOLE WAY.

Wen Xin (OR WENSHIN) Road turns into DONGSHAN Road or Route 129! See map and sattelite map of Venue!

Cross over BEITUN (sometimes spelled PEITUN). Though this Road might change its name from Wenxin to Dongshan; IT IS THE SAME ROAD! LUVstock is on this road!

Stay on DONGSHAN until you get to the DAKENG TRAFFIC CIRCLE (THEN FOLLOW THE SIGNS TO LUVSTOCK!)

Go around the Traffic Circle and continue NORTH on 129 (Dongshan Road) (you're almost there 5 more minutes!) There will be signs. DongShan Paradise is on THE RIGHT SIDE ON DONG SHAN ROAD. LOOK FOR SIGNS AND FOLLOW THEM.
